The source revealed to the publication that the California-based electric vehicle maker is hiring for positions such as sales and marketing manager, as well as a human resources manager. Meanwhile, Tesla`s fan club tweeted last week, on May 27, and again on June 1, about hiring a senior legal counsel and then leading the aftermarket. Tesla has started hiring senior executives for leadership positions in India, Bloomberg reported. Tesla hires executive positions, including a sales and marketing manager and a human resources manager. In January this year, Tesla registered an Indian subsidiary and moved into a coworking space in Bangalore. Tesla seems to have already made a hire. She hired Nitika Chhabra as Senior Legal Counsel. According to his LinkedIn profile, Chhabra began his work in May this year. It`s still unclear exactly how Tesla`s operations in India will grow. According to reports, the company will set up a research and development center in Bangalore and a manufacturing plant somewhere in Karnataka. However, Bloomberg reports that Tesla is seeking government incentives for its electric vehicles before fully committing to operations in the country.

Aside from Tesla`s debut in a brand new market with huge potential, Musk has taken a step into another sector. A few years after tweeting about opening a restaurant or convenience store, Tesla`s CEO took the first step toward “Tesla food service.” Tesla reportedly filed applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on May 27 to use its “T” logo and two other iterations of its “Tesla” logo for use in the food industry. According to the reports, the three requests submitted relate to “food services, pop-up food services, self-service restaurants, take-out food services”. *New Tesla India Hiring Alert* Samir Jain has joined Tesla India as Service Manager – India. After months of speculation, the world`s second-richest man tweeted on Jan. 13 in response to a report on a blog focused on Tesla that the automaker was in talks with several Indian states to house its offices, showrooms and research and development center in the future.

Local media also noted that Prashanth Menon, who has been with Tesla for about four years, has been promoted to Indian CEO. Elon Musk, known for his cryptic social media presence, has been talking for many years about opening a restaurant in Southern California, tweeting in 2018 about his plans to set up an “old-fashioned drive-in, roller skating and a rock restaurant in one of the new Tesla Supercharger locations in Los Angeles.” Shortly after the tweet, JB Straubel, Tesla`s chief technology officer, told people at a restaurant convention that the company “has already worked with restaurants” on its concept from convenience stores and grocery stores to Tesla charging stations. The world`s most valuable automaker is preparing to resume operations in India. In January this year, RoC records showed that Tesla had registered a company called “Tesla India Motors And Energy Private Limited”. He had an authorized capital of Rs. 15 lakh and a paid-up capital of Rs. 1 lakh. The company was based in Lavelle Road, Bangalore. The company had appointed Vaibhav Taneja, Venkatrangam Sreeram and David Jon Feinstein as directors. Jon Feinstein is a global senior director at Tesla, while Vaibhav Taneja is an accounting director at Tesla. Tesla had also appointed Prashant Menon, who has been with the company for four years, as India`s chief executive.

Tesla`s move to India will end years of uncertainty – in 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Tesla factory in the US and spoke with Elon Musk. A year later, Musk tweeted that Tesla was in talks with the Indian government to bring its electric vehicles to India. Musk had repeatedly pointed to an Indian entry on Twitter over the years, but Tesla`s entry into India has been delayed several times. But now that the company is setting up an Indian subsidiary and has started hiring, it is likely that Tesla will finally have a full-fledged operation in India.
