Rick has dedicated his legal career to representing Georgia-based high-profile corporations, international corporations and clients in litigation and appeals in Georgia and beyond. Outside the courtroom, he represents private companies and individuals from various sectors in the creation, operation and transfer of businesses. His extensive litigation experience enhances his ability to identify and mitigate areas of transactional risk. Prior to founding Baker Jenner, Rick was a partner at a law firm in Midtown Atlanta. Prior to law school, he worked for a congressman and an incumbent gubernatorial candidate, coordinated local campaigns, and managed community affairs, media relations, and special events. He also has experience as a public relations consultant for companies and non-profit organizations. Dick Baker graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1967 with a major in political science and a minor in marine science. From 1967 to 1970, he served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps with operations in Vietnam. Okinawa; Quantico, Virginia, and Camp Pendleton, California. Mr. Baker received his Ph.D. from Baylor University School of Law in 1973.

After law school, he returned to New Mexico, where he served as deputy chief prosecutor of the First Judicial District, consisting of Santa Fe, Los Alamos, and Rio Arriba counties, and as chief prosecutor of riots after the February 2–3, 1980 New Mexico Penitentiary riot, in which 33 inmates were killed. Mr. Baker practiced civil law in the areas of insurance defense and labor law, but he focused primarily on state and federal attorneys. He retired in 2012 after working for the U.S. Department of Justice for more than 30 years, where he served as Assistant District Attorney for the New Mexico County and Northern District of Texas. He has frequently lectured and taught at the Department of Justice`s National Advocacy Center and trained new federal prosecutors.
